If the success of a mafioso is measured by how long they stayed alive, Joseph Bonanno is the most successful mafioso of all time. Bonnano became the boss of a major crime family at the age of 26, and the mobster known as “Joe Bananas” managed to survive until the age of 97. He retired from the mafia life in 1968, at which point he moved West, splitting his time between California and Arizona.

In 1978 he signed this check from the Arizona Bank. It is for the value of $18.00, and dated to October 6th, 1978. Bonnano signed the check in blue pen. This check has been encapsulated and the signature graded a NM – MT 8 by PSA/DNA (83939220).
