Offered is a one-of-a-kind painting of 13 members of the 1978 World Series Champion New York Yankees, signed by 25 members of the team including Hall of Famers Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson and Goose Gossage.  The 24 x 36-inch oil on canvas painting depicts head and shoulder vignettes of the Yankees players – top row, from left to right, Thurman Munson, Hunter, Mickey Rivers, Jackson and Graig Nettles; middle row, left to right, Willie Randolph, Sparky Lyle, Ron Guidry and Lou Pinella; bottom row, Chris Chambliss, Roy White, Bucky Dent and Gossage. Hunter has signed his name “Jim Catfish Hunter” in blue marker; Rivers has signed his name in black marker; Jackson has signed his name in blue marker and inscribed “78 World Champs” below his signature, and Nettles has signed his name in blue pen and inscribed “78 World Champs” below his signature. Randolph has signed his name in blue marker, while Lyle has signed his name in black marker and inscribed “78 World Champs” below his signature. Guidry has signed his name in blue marker and inscribed “1977 & 78 World Champs” below his signature, while Pinella has signed his name in blue marker and inscribed “1978 World Champs” below his signature. Chambliss has signed his name in black marker and inscribed “78 World Champs” below his signature, while White has signed his name in blue marker and inscribed “78 World Champs” below his signature. Dent has signed his name in blue pen, while Gossage has signed his name in blue pen and inscribed “#54” below his signature. The artist, David Ott, has signed his name in red paint in the lower right corner. There are 13 additional signatures in the upper left of the painting, including Cliff Johnson, Jay Johnstone, Jim Spenser, Dick Tidrow, Clyde King, Gene Michael, Rawly Eastwick, Art Fowler, Don Gullett, Paul Blair, Brian Doyle, Ed Figueroa and Mike Torrez.
