All-time hits leader Pete Rose spent his last season with the Cincinnati Reds in 1978 where he collected 198 hits and a .302 batting average. The 1963 National League Rookie of the Year and 1973 NL MVP also led the National League in doubles with 51. Rose would sign a then lucrative deal with the Philadelphia Phillies the following season and eventually led the Phillies to their first-ever World Series title in 1980.

This offered home white Cincinnati Reds uniform set (jersey and pants) was worn by Rose in 1978. The Rawlings size 44 pullover jersey has the Reds wishbone “C” on the upper left chest in red tackle twill with the “C” in white chenille and “REDS” sewn on in white. Rose’s number “14” is sewn on in red tackle twill on the upper right chest. The red Rawlings size 44 tag with the “SET 1 1978” flag is sewn on the inside front right tail. The V-neck collar has a ribbed material with a red/white/red pattern and the sleeves are bordered in red and white stripes. The back of the jersey has “ROSE” and “14” sewn on in red tackle twill directly to the jersey. Rose has signed his name in black marker below the wishbone “C” logo on the front and inscribed “5/5/78”. This jersey comes with LOAs from PSA/DNA (AE07215) and SGC (AB03006) for Rose’s signature and inscription.

The pants are matching white and are also manufactured by Rawlings. These size 32 waist pants have an expandable waistline with red/white/red stripes, two snap buttons and a zipper front. The Rawlings tag is sewn on the inside back waist and an additional white tag with red embroidery reads “14 32 24 78” indicating the player, waist size, inseam and year. The pants display moderate use and Rose signed these pants in black marker inscribing “5/5/78”. These come with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (200602E1) for the game use and LOAs from PSA/DNA (AE07216) and SGC (AB03007) for the signature and inscription.
