Detroit Tigers right fielder Tim Corcoran wore this gray Tigers road pullover during the 1978 MLB season, his second year in the Bigs. Corcoran played a career-high 116 games in 1978, hitting one home run with 27 RBI and a .265 batting average. The Tigers went 86-76 in 1978, a 12-win improvement from the previous season’s mark. This offered pullover jersey has “DETROIT” sewn across the chest in navy and orange tackle twill. “CORCORAN” is sewn across the back shoulders in navy tackle twill. Please note there is evidence of a nameplate removal on the back of the jersey. The number “20” is sewn on the back of the jersey in nay and orange tackle twill, however the “2” digit appears to have been restored. Corcoran wore the number “25” with the Tigers, and the remnants of another number is present beneath the “0”. A Rawlings size “42” tag, a “78 1 42” tag, and a “55” tag are sewn on the front tail. A “Set 1 1978” flag is attached to the Rawlings tag. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
