Wayne Gretzky's rookie year! This highly displayable counter-sales box contains 48 unopened, 20¢ wax packs of the blue-bordered classic that showcased the mega-star's first appearance, as well as such luminaries as #'s 175 Howe, 185 Hull and loads of valuable Team and Leaders cards. The packs, billed as "Giant" on the strength of their 14-cards per pack content, hold the very scarce and immensely irresistible O-Pee-Chee version of the 1979-80 series, which was distributed only in Canada.
How many Mint superstars are hiding inside these crisply preserved packs, and how many of the sport's "ultimate" rookie cards (#18 Wayne Gretzky) will emerge? The box exhibits vestiges of a strip of clear adhesive tape that was placed at the factory and which once secured the lid, and hinge separations are evident at the top of the still-attractive counter-sales unit. The container is comfortably protected within sealed "Baseball Card Exchange" plastic wrapping.
