Atlanta Braves leftfielder Gary Matthews wore this white Braves home jersey during the 1979 MLB season. 1979 was Matthews’ best all-around season, with “Sarge” making his only All-Star team and setting career-best marks in batting average (.304), homers (27), and RBI (90). This pullover jersey features a red pinstripe design, with “Braves” and Matthews’ number “36” sewn on the chest in blue, white, and red tackle twill. A second “36” is sewn on the back of the jersey in blue, white, and red tackle twill. A Wilson size “44” tag is sewn on the back inside collar, while a “79” year tag is sewn on the front left tail of this jersey. This jersey is accompanied by a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
