Hall of Fame ace Gaylord Perry wore this brown and yellow San Diego Padres road jersey in 1979. Perry joined the Padres in 1978, winning the National League Cy Young Award with a 21-win season. In 1979, Perry won 12 games and maintained a 3.06 ERA. He was selected to the National League All-Star team in 1979, marking the fifth All-Star appearance of his lengthy career. Perry pitched until 1984, winning 314 games across his 22 seasons in the Big Leagues. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.

This brown pullover jersey has “San Diego” and Perry’s number “36” sewn on the chest in yellow and white tackle twill. “PERRY” is sewn across the back shoulders in yellow tackle twill over a matching brown nameplate. A second “36” is sewn on the back of the jersey in yellow and white tackle twill. The sleeves and collar of this jersey are yellow, with a brown stripe accenting the ends of the sleeves. A Wilson size “48” tag and a “36 79” swatch are sewn on the front left tail. Perry has signed the “3” digit on the back of this jersey in blue fiber tip marker. This jersey shows moderate wear and comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema, who states this jersey is “all original, which is very unusual for 1978-79 Padres gamers”. Additionally, a LOA from JSA (Z83394) covers Perry’s signature.
