The Hall of Fame center Moses Malone was presented with this commemorative award by the NBA for leading the league in rebounding during the 1980-81 NBA season with the Houston Rockets. The former ABA star averaged 27.8 points, then a career-high, and an NBA-best 14.8 rebounds per game as he was named to both the All-Star team and the All-NBA Second Team. Malone retired after the 1994-95 NBA season with career averages of 20.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, and he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001.
This offered award is a quartz clock affixed to an 18 x 12-inch wooden plaque. The clock, which measures 8.5 x 8.5 inches, is in good condition. A placard affixed to this award reads “Moses Malone / Houston Rockets / NBA Rebounding Champion / 1980-81”. A circular NBA logo is placed on the upper corner of the plaque. A gold statuette of a basketball player is affixed to the plaque. This award is in good condition and is a tremendous relic from the career of a true Hall of Famer. It is accompanied by a LOA signed by Michael Malone.
