Graded GEM MT 10 by PSA. Hall of Famer. Among a total of barely 125 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, only three examples have been awarded this unimprovable grading assessment. The entire, full-color obverse of this grand, approximately 5" x 7" collectible is devoted to a portrait likeness of "The Great One," Wayne Gretzky. Although large-sized cards in this format were also produced to highlight stars from both baseball and football during the same period, and are becoming a bit tough to find in today's market, the hockey production that provides this Gretzky showpiece has always been legitimately scarce. (These big cards are condition-sensitive, too: many of the pieces created in this style were distributed on a buyer's-choice basis, and they were sold without protective wrappers.) A wonderfully visual piece, in Gem Mint condition.
