Played on July 8th in Dodger Stadium, the 1980 Major League Baseball All-Star Game showcased some incredible players such as Johnny Bench, Reggie Jackson, Pete Rose, Rickey Henderson, and Dave Winfield. The National League beat the American League by a final score of 4-2, as Ken Griffey – who went 2-for-3 with a home run – took home the Most Valuable Player Award. Willie Randolph recorded two hits for the AL.
Offered here is a 1980 MLB American League All-Star Game ring that was presented to Randolph, which features the image of a star on a large dark colored stone. “BASEBALL ALL STAR” reads in relief work around the bezel setting, along with two additional small stars. The Dodgers team logo appears on one side of the ring, above “LA 1980”, as “AMERICAN” and “NATIONAL” are shown in a shield below. The name “RANDOLPH” is displayed at the top of the opposite side, above an image of the MLB logo. “MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL” reads below. This ring, which shows some wear, is an approximate size 7 and weighs approximately 15.3 grams. This ring comes directly from the collection of Willie Randolph and a signed LOA from Willie Randolph will accompany this item.
