Hall of Fame forward Julius “Dr. J” Erving wore these Converse All-Star sneakers during the 1980’s. A high-flying superstar for the Philadelphia 76ers, Erving averaged 24.2 points per game during his 16-season professional basketball career. An All-Star in either the NBA or ABA during each of these seasons, Erving won two ABA titles, the 1982-83 NBA title, and is the only player to win MVP awards in the ABA and the NBA. These high-top shoes are white, with red chevrons and stars sewn on each side of the shoes. “Dr. J” is printed in red on the outside of each heel. The Converse logo is sewn on the back of the heel in red. The Converse tag appears on each tongue, and a size “15” tag is sewn inside of each shoe. Erving has signed the heel of each shoe in black pen, inscribing “To My Friend Dave / From” on the left shoe. These shoes come with a Letter of Provenance from a security guard at Madison Square Garden and a LOA from JSA (Z76359) for the signatures.
