The inimitable Walter Payton, the NFL’s all-time leading rusher at the time of his retirement, wore this navy Chicago Bears home jersey during the 1980’s. “Sweetness” was the engine that powered Chicago to the Super Bowl XX title in the 1985 season, rushing for 1,551 yards and nine touchdowns in that magical season, leading the Bears to a 15-1 regular season record and a 46-10 drubbing of the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. The Jackson State product rushed for 16,726 yards and 110 touchdowns in his career, earning First Team All-Pro honors five times and winning the 1977 NFL Most Valuable Player award. Payton retired after the 1987 season and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993.

This offered Bears home jersey is navy, with Payton’s iconic number “34” printed on the chest, back, and shoulders in white and orange numerals. “PAYTON” is printed across the back shoulders in white and orange lettering over a matching navy nameplate. The Bears “GSH” memorial, added in 1984, is printed on the left sleeve. A Wilson size “44” tag is sewn on the front left tail of this historic jersey. Payton has signed the “3” digit on the back of this jersey in blue marker. Please note that his signature is faded slightly. This jersey comes with a PMG LOA.
