Jim Rice, the eight-time Boston Red Sox All-Star, used this stick in 1981 to hit a nice .284 with 17 home runs and led the American League in at-bats. Rice, who spent his entire career in Boston, was elected to baseball’s Hall of Fame in 2009. The Louisville Slugger R213 model bat shows excellent use with a handle crack. The barrel shows several ball marks and abrasions and there is a spiral of adhesive tape on the handle to enhance the grip. Rice’s number “14” is hand written on the knob in black marker. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16110) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.
