Due to the players’ strike in 1981, the regular season was split into two halves. The Los Angeles Dodgers won the Western Division in the first half of the season and they faced the Houston Astros, the winner of the second half Western Division in the expanded playoff format. The Dodgers would go on to defeat the Astros in the Division Series and then knocked off the Montreal Expos in the NLCS. After dropping the first two games of the 1981 World Series to Reggie Jackson and the New York Yankees, the Dodgers would rally to defeat their long-time rivals four games to two and won the franchise’s first title since 1965.

21 members of that championship team reunited to sign this Official Allan H. Selig Major League baseball. This ball is still in pristine white condition and features the signature of manager and Hall of Famer Tom Lasorda on the sweet spot in bold blue pen. All of the signatures on this baseball have been signed in blue pen and include Dusty Baker, Rick Monday, Ken Landreaux, Dave Goltz, Jay Johnstone, Steve Sax, Steve Yeager, Ron Cey, Bill Russell, Davey Lopes, Steve Garvey, Jerry Reuss, Pedro Guerrero, Candy Maldonado, Bobby Castillo, Darrel Thomas, Dave Stewart, Manny Mota, Tom Niedenfuer and Bob Welch. This item comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
