The 1981 MLB All-Star Game, played in front of 72,086 fans in Cleveland Stadium, was one of the best in the game’s history. With the American League ahead, 4-3, Mike Schmidt hit a two-run home run off of Rollie Fingers in the 8th inning. That would be the last scoring in the game, as the National League went on to win 5-4. Gary Carter, who hit two homers, won the Most Valuable Player Award.
Offered here is a Balfour 1981 MLB American League All-Star Game ring that was presented to Willie Randolph, who went 1-for-3 in the contest. A blue colored stone appears between the words “NATIONAL” and “AMERICAN”, as “BASEBALL ALL STAR” – along with CZs – is displayed around the outer edges. The 1981 All-Star Game logo centers one side of the ring, with the name “RANDOLPH” above and “CLEVELAND” below. Logos for the AL, NL and MLB are shown on the opposite side. “BALFOUR CELESTRIUM” is marked inside the band of this approximate size 9 ring. This item weighs approximately 29.8 grams. This ring comes directly from the collection of Willie Randolph and a signed LOA from Willie Randolph will accompany this item.
