Muhammad Ali is without question an American icon. The holder of a 50-6 career record in the ring, plain numbers cannot do justice to Ali’s impact as a sportsman, a celebrity, and an activist. Ali changed the parameters of what it meant to be an athlete, opening the door to a new generation of celebrity sportsmen. The Greatest of All Time, Ali’s unquestioned skill and ferocity in the ring led to countless accolades, with more than one outlet naming him the “Greatest Athlete of the 20th Century.”

     Offered here is a framed poster featuring a photograph of Ali above a recap of his storied fighting career. The picture itself shows a defiant Ali raising four fingers to the camera while wearing a collared black shirt. Above his head the blue text “Ali” repeats six times, growing bigger as the text moves from left to right. Directly underneath the picture of Ali is black text reading “I shall return.” Ali’s signature and the date are written to its right.

     Below the picture of Ali are 60 red boxing gloves filled with white text recounting his fighting career. Fights where Ali won the heavyweight championship (Liston-Ali I, The Rumble in the Jungle, and Ali-Spinks II) are gold gloves instead of red. All the gloves contain the name of Ali’s opponent, the date, and the result of the fight. The poster itself is 24 x 36 ½ inches and comes inside of a 31 x 43 inch frame. There is a small crack on the bottom right corner of the frame. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AB11567).
