Baltimore Orioles shortstop Cal Ripken Jr. wore this black and white Orioles cap circa 1982-84. 1982 was Ripken’s rookie season, and he celebrated by putting up a Triple Crown slash line of .264/28/93 on his way to the American League Rookie of the Year trophy. Ripken stepped his game up in 1983, winning his first of two American League MVP trophies with 27 homers, 102 RBI, and a .318 batting average. Ripken made the American League All-Star team in both 1983 and 1984.

This cap is polyester. The front two panels are white and the remaining four panels are black. An Orioles logo is sewn on the front of this size 7 3/8 cap, which features an orange brim. Ripken’s number “8” is written in black marker on the underside of the brim. Ripken has signed the underside of the brim in blue marker. This cap shows moderate wear. It comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema, as well as a LOA from JT Sports. Please note that Miedema assigns use of this cap to the 1982-84 seasons, while JT Sports states the use as taking place in 1983-84. A LOA from JSA (Z61780) covers Ripken’s signature.
