Hall of Famer Bernard King returned home when he was traded by the Golden State Warriors to the New York Knicks just before the start of the 1982-83 season. The gifted scorer made an immediate impact for the Knickerbockers as he led the team in scoring with a 21.9 points per game average and New York finished with a 44-38 record, an 11-game improvement from the previous season.

King wore this navy blue Sand Knit size 44 mesh jersey during the 1982-1983 season. This would be the last year the Knicks wore this style as they switched to the now familiar royal blue and orange color scheme the following season. Manufactured by Gerry Cosby Athletic Outfitters of New York, NY, this jersey features King’s number “30” sewn on the front in white-on-red tackle twill. “NEW YORK” is sewn on below King’s number in red-on-white tackle twill. The back of the jersey has “KING” sewn on in red-on-white tackle twill with the number “30” sewn on below in white-on-red tackle twill. The collar and open arms have a red and white stripe pattern made of a ribbed material. The “medalist Sand Knit Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the New York Knicks” and “GERRY COSBY” tags are sewn on the bottom left front tail with a “44” flag attached. This jersey shows moderate game use with some loose threads on the sewn on numbers and letters. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema for the game use.
