Offered is a 1982-83 Lladro porcelain FIFA World Cup Trophy. The 14 ½-inch tall figurine has a blue and pink circular base with the inscription “FIFA WORLD CUP” in raised gray letters. Atop the base is a pair of figures of men with arms upraised in brown and tan, holding a pink and blue globe of the earth at the top.  Under the base is stamped in blue, “Lladro Hand Made in Spain © Sport-Billy Productions 1978” on white porcelain.  Lladro was founded in 1953 by three brothers, Juan, José and Vicente Lladró, in the village of Almàssera, Spain.  Starting with items such as vases and jugs, it wasn't until 1956 that they started producing the sculptures for which they are now most famous.  This figurine is from Lladro’s sports collection sculpted by Salvador Furió in 1982 and comes with a COA as well as owner's paid purchase invoice.
