As two-time defending Stanley Cup Champions, the New York Islanders turned in their most dominant performance yet during the 1981-82 season. They finished the regular season with a record of 54-16-10, good for a league-high 118 points. An incredibly balanced team, the Islanders would finish second in the league in both goals scored and goals allowed. In the playoffs, they turned up their game to an even higher level, winning eight straight contests over the course of the Conference Finals (4-0 sweep of the Quebec Nordiques) and Stanley Cup Finals (4-0 over the Vancouver Canucks), to capture their third consecutive title. Stars such as Bryan Trottier (50 goals, 79 assists) and Clark Gillies (38 goals) lit the lamp often, but no star shined brighter than Mike Bossy, who scored 64 goals and added 83 assists, for 147 points that season.
Featured here is a Balfour 10K 1982 New York Islanders Stanley Cup Champions Mike Bossy salesman sample ring.
