In his 17th big league season and third of nine with the Houston Astros, Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan was coming off a fantastic National League-leading 1.69 ERA season in 1981. His 1982 season was solid as he posted 245 strikeouts in 250 innings pitched and registering a 16-12 record. Ryan wore this iconic Houston Astros home “Tequila Sunrise” jersey during the 1982 season.

The Houston Astros broke the baseball jersey mold when they unveiled the colorful “Tequila Sunrise” style jersey in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s and this classic jersey was worn by one of the most feared pitchers of his era. Ryan’s jersey features “Astros” sewn on in navy tackle twill on the white portion of this jersey. The bottom half of the jersey features two tones of orange, a yellow and red stripe, which match the pattern on the sleeves. This pullover jersey was manufactured by “Sand-Knit” and is a size 44. Both the “Sand-Knit” size 44 tag and the team patch the reads “82 44” are sewn on the bottom front left tail. A large navy star, outlined in white, is on the left chest in applique’. The v-neck collar is navy. The back of the jersey has “RYAN” sewn on in navy tackle twill on a matching white name plate with his number “34” sewn on in navy and white tackle twill on the colored portion. This jersey displays moderate game use and is a great Nolan Ryan gamer wearing one of the most recognizable jerseys ever made. This jersey comes with a full LOA from Mears, who have graded this jersey a perfect A10.
