Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher Sid Monge wore this powder blue uniform during the 1982 MLB season. The Phillies, two seasons removed from their first championship, finished with a record of 89-73, good for second place in the National League. Monge had a terrific season, compiling a 7-1 record while maintaining an ERA of 3.75.

This jersey, a zip-up, powder blue road number, features the Phillies “P” logo sewn on the left breast in maroon-on-white tackle twill. Monge’s number “49” is sewn on the right breast and on the back in maroon-on-white tackle twill. “MONGE” is sewn across the back shoulders in maroon-on-white tackle twill over a matching powder blue nameplate. A maroon and white band graces the shoulders and runs down the sides of the jersey. A tag with “Monge” embroidered in black is sewn on the inside back collar. A Wilson size “42” tag and “82 2” tag are sewn on the front left tail of the jersey.Monge signed the back of the jersey in black marker, adding the inscription “Game Used 1983”. The inscription declares the jersey was worn in 1983, but Monge certifies in the LOA that it was worn in ’82. This jersey shows light signs of use.

Also included is a pair of Wilson, powder blue pants from the 1982 season. A maroon and white stripe runs down the sides of these pants. A Wilson size “34” tag is sewn on the waistband, along with a “Monge 82 2 25” tag. Monge signed the left buttock of this jersey in black marker, inscribing “Game Used 1982”.

Finally, a game used baseball from the Phillies 9-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 28th, 1982 is offered. Pete Rose went 5-5 with two doubles and an RBI in this game. Monge signed the sweet spot of this Charles S. Feeney Official National League baseball in blue pen. “9th win vs Dodgers 7-1 / Game Used Ball / 1982” is inscribed to the south panel. Please note that the score of the game was 9-3, but the wrong score was inscribed on this ball. These items come with a LOA from Sid Monge.
