One of the best dynasties in NHL history was the early 1980s New York Islanders. From 1980-1984, the Islanders appeared in every single Stanley Cup Finals and won four straight starting in 1980. With great players such as Mike Bossy, Denis Potvin, and Billy Smith, the Islanders were the premier team of that era. One of the key leaders and producers of that team was Hall of Famer Bryan Trottier, who amassed 1,425 points during his 18-year career, including 1,353 points for the Islanders alone.

     Trottier, a six-time Stanley Cup Champion, wore this size 52 Syosset Sport Center white mesh New York Islanders jersey during the 1983-84 season in which he totaled 40 goals and 71 assists in 68 games. This jersey has the tackle twill blue and orange Islanders logo sewn on the front with his number “19” sewn on in blue and orange tackle twill on the center of the long sleeves. The back of the jersey has “TROTTIER” sewn on in blue and orange tackle twill on a matching white mesh name plate with his number “19” sewn on in blue and orange below. The Syosset Sport Center tag is sewn on the inside back neck and a blue fight strap is sewn on the inside back number area.

     This jersey exhibits heavy game used with the right sleeve showing black marks and burn marks. The left sleeve also displays black marks and board burns, while the front of the jersey has black marks, board burns and scrapes. The back of the jersey has several marks including a paint transfer, black marks, board burns and one team repair which extends from the nameplate to the middle of the “9”. This jersey comes with a full LOA from the MeiGray Group (154239) and also comes with a DVD with footage of the December 15, 1983 game between the Islanders and Detroit Red Wings at the Nassau Coliseum showing Trottier wearing this jersey. There is footage of the large rip on the back of the jersey in the second period which required the necessary repairs. In the third period of the game, the video shows Trottier wearing a previous season’s Sandow jersey without a nameplate, as the presented jersey here was being fixed.
