Hall of Famer Cal Ripken had his breakout season in 1983 when he not only took home the American League MVP with his stellar season in which he led the AL with 211 hits and 121 runs scored, but also led the Baltimore Orioles to a World Series title. Ripken also belted 27 home runs and drove in 102 runs, while maintaining a lofty .318 average and earned his first of his 19 consecutive All-Star Game selections.

Ripken was issued this road gray size 42 Medalist Sand-Knit button-down Baltimore Orioles road jersey during the 1983 season. This jersey features “Orioles” sewn on and scripted across the chest in orange and black tackle twill. Ripken’s number “8” is also sewn on the front in orange and black tackle twill. The collar has black and orange borders and the sleeve ends have an expandable black, white and orange striping pattern.

The back of the jersey has “RIPKEN” sewn on in orange and black tackle twill on a matching gray nameplate and Ripken’s number “8” sewn on in orange and black tackle twill. The Medalist Sand-Knit tags are sewn on the bottom front left tail with one tag reading “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the BALTIMORE ORIOLES AMERICAN LEAGUE”. Sewn on the inside back center tail is a team tag that reads “83 * 42Z”. This jersey does not display any game use and comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (190924C16).
