Only four men in the history of the game can claim to have 3,000 career hits, 300 career homers and a .300 or above career average. A 13 time All-Star and Hall of Famer, George Brett will forever be remembered for his explosive reaction to an umpires’ decision to disallow a home run due to the amount of pine tar on his bat in 1983. Brett’s anger was justified as ultimately the disallowed home run was overturned. Offered here is a size 42 Wilson Kansas City batting practice jersey worn by Brett during the 1983 season. This jersey is a short-sleeve mesh pullover. The Royals’ interlocking “KC” is sewn on in white tackle twill backing on the upper left chest. The collar, sleeve-ends and waist have a ribbed material with powder blue, white and blue stripes. Brett’s number “5” is sewn on the left sleeve in white tackle twill and the back of the jersey had his number “5” in white tackle twill. The Wilson size 42 tag and a blue “83” patch are sewn on the inside back collar. This jersey comes with a LOA from 100% Authentic for the use.
