Former outfielder Lonnie Smith spent three-plus seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals and was a member of the 1982 World Championship team. Smith’s 1983 season was a solid campaign as the outfielder finished with a .321 batting average, collecting a 158 hits.
This size 40 powder blue Rawlings pullover jersey was worn by Smith during the 1983 season and features “Cardinals” that is sewn across the chest in red and navy blue cursive script in smooth chenille with a golden bat and two perched Cardinals on each end. Smith’s number “27” is sewn on the front left center chest in red and navy blue tackle twill. “L. SMITH” and his number “27” are sewn on directly to the back of the jersey in red and navy blue tackle twill. The v-neck collar and sleeve ends are capped with a ribbed red white and blue material. The red Rawlings tag is sewn on the inside front left tail, along with the “SET 1 1983” flag. The jersey shows moderate wear with some minor stains. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
