Played in The Forum in Inglewood, California, the 1983 NBA All-Star Game featured a list of all-time basketball greats including Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Julius Erving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Moses Malone. The East defeated the West, 132-123, as Erving took home the game’s Most Valuable Player award after scoring 25 points. Bird added 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists for the East. Abdul-Jabbar paced the West with 20 points while Johnson recorded 17 points and 16 assists.

Offered here is a 1983 NBA All-Star Game ring presented to John Havlicek, who knew a little something about these games. Havlicek was a 13-time All-Star, who scored 26,395 career points with a lifetime average of 20.8 PPG. This ring is highlighted by a beautiful blue stone, on which appears an image of a basketball. “NBA ALL STAR” appears in relief work around the bezel setting. An NBA league logo, filled in enamel, centers one side of the ring, with the name “HAVLICEK” above. The opposite side shows “THE FORUM” next to an exterior image of the building; “1983” is shown at the top while an image of a basketball is displayed at the bottom. Inside the band of this approximate size 10 ring is marked “BALFOUR CELESTRUM”. This item weighs approximately 16.4 grams and also includes a LOA from John Havlicek.
