Joseph Romo was head athletic trainer at Brown University from 1959-1964 and the University of San Francisco from 1964-1969. He ended his athletic training career by working for 13 years as the head athletic trainer for the Oakland Athletics. Offered here is a Hall of Fame ring that was presented to former Athletics’ trainer Joe Romo in 1983 for his contributions in helping the A’s in their dynasty run of the early 1970’s. The NATA recognizes the very best in the profession, those whose accomplishments were fueled by dedication, leadership and professionalism. This ring was manufactured by Herff Jones as is 10K gold. A 35-point diamond is centered on a deep royal blue stone which has “NATIONAL ATHLETIC TRAINERS ASSOCIATION” on the outside with “HALL OF FAME” and five stars on the inside. One shank has “1983” in a banner over a torch while the opposite shank has the “NATA” logo. The inside band has etched “HJ10K”. This ring is an approximate size 13 ½ and weighs approximately 35.7 grams. This ring is accompanied by a custom wood-like ring box and the owner’s original purchase LOA.
