In their second season since moving from Oakland to Los Angeles the Raiders posted a 12-4 regular season record en-route to the team’s third Super Bowl appearance. Decided underdogs to the defending Super Bowl champion Washington Redskins, the Raiders jumped out to a 21-3 halftime lead and won the game by the lopsided score of 38-9 in what would come to be historically referred to as “Black Sunday.” Los Angeles running back Marcus Allen rushed for a then Super Bowl record 191 yards on 20 carries, with two touchdowns and a 74-yard run, which was also a Super Bowl record at the time, becoming the third Heisman Trophy winner to be named Super Bowl MVP.

This authentic size 11, 45.91-gram, 14K white gold Lennox ring is the original ring presented to Raiders cornerback and 1981 first-round draft pick Ted Watts, who played in all 16 regular season games and served as the kick returner for the Raiders in the Super Bowl. Sparkling white gold ring remains in outstanding condition with three football shaped large diamond clusters on its face in recognition of the Raiders three Super Bowl victories. “LOS ANGELES RAIDERS” and “WORLD CHAMPIONS” are engraved in raised relief at the top and bottom of the ring’s bezel which also contains five large diamonds on the right and left side. “SUPER BOWL XVII” is engraved across the top of the left shank above the “RAIDERS 38” and “REDSKINS 9” score of the game, flanking the Lombardi trophy rising above a “RAIDERS 30 SEAHAWKS 14” score of the AFC championship game with an AFC logo, “PRIDE” and “1983” below. Watt’s name and “D BACK 20” are engraved on the right shank above the Raiders signature pirate-faced coat-of-arms logo with “POISE” and “1983” below. Lennox “(LR)” trademark and 14K are engraved on the interior band and the ring comes with a written affidavit describing how it was obtained from the shop where it was pawned by Watts.
