New York Mets Hall of Fame ace Tom Seaver wore this blue Mets cap in 1983. Seaver returned to the Mets in 1983 after spending parts of six seasons with the Cincinnati Reds, after beginning his career in New York in 1967. Seaver won nine games in 1983, finishing the year with a 3.55 ERA and two complete game shutouts. Seaver retired after the 1986 season and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on his first ballot, in 1992. This cap Is blue, with an orange Mets logo on the front. Team repairs are present on the front of the cap. A New Era tag and a size “7 ½” flag are sewn on the sweatband. Seaver’s number “41” is written on the underside of the brim in black marker. The cap comes with a LOA from noted game used expert Dave Miedema.
