Offered is a unique New York Yankees over-sized cardboard sheet from 1983, with the signatures of Baseball Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Whitey Ford and Phil Rizzuto as well as Yankees legends Billy Martin, Hank Bauer and Bill “Moose” Skowron. Under the headline “Sports Page” and dated “July 25-August 8, 1983” this 23 x 36-inch cardboard poster has a Winston cigarettes ad at the bottom third and was likely used as an advertisement in a bus kiosk or subway/train station. The central image is a photo of then-Yankees manager Billy Martin with the headline “Battlin’ Billy”. The eight signatures, all in blue marker, are on the Martin photo in the center of the poster. The poster has wrinkles and folds especially in the center, and there are slight tears on the lower right and lower left margins. The 1983 New York Yankees squad managed by Billy Martin finished in third place in the American League Eastern Division with a record of 91-71, finishing 7 games behind the eventual World Series Champion Baltimore Orioles.
