Harold Baines was one of the best hitters of his era, literally becoming the first “full-time” Designated Hitter. After being the first overall draft pick in 1977, Baines went on the have a stellar career, garnering 2,866 hits, 488 doubles, 384 home runs and 1,628 RBIs. Baines was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019.

This offered Chicago White Sox batting helmet was used by Baines during the 1984-1987 seasons. This size 7 3/8 helmet has a navy crown with a red brim with “SOX” decal in white affixed to the front. Baines’ number “3” is adhered to the top of the brim with a white sticker. The back of the helmet has the “ABC” logo decal and “BAINES” is in small white lettering on a black sticker on the bottom left. The interior of the helmet has tan padding that has hardened over the years. This helmet displays heavy game use with numerous marks and abrasions and Baines has signed this helmet in silver marker, while inscribing “#3”. This helmet comes with a LOA from MEARS (315341) for the game use and a COA from Beckett Authentication (F33856) for the signature.
