No rookie player was more anticipated in NBA history than Michael Jordan was in 1984. As he would throughout his amazing career, Jordan’s rookie season did not disappoint as he averaged 28.2 points per game and led the Bulls to a playoff appearance. Jordan’s highlight reel dunks also started to draw attention in opposing arenas and helped the Bulls to become a marquee draw and began the era of “Air Jordan”. This stunning jersey dates to that rookie season and was issued for the road as he single-handedly generated millions of new Chicago Bulls (and Jordan) fans. The red mesh road jersey has “Chicago” across the chest with Jordan’s “23” below in black and white screen printing. The collar and arm openings are trimmed in red, white and black and a size 44 Rawlings label is sewn inside the left front tail. The back of the jersey has “JORDAN across the shoulders in white and his number “23” below in black and white. The jersey shows no game use with just a minimal amount of toning from age. The jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS.
