Hall of Fame point guard John Stockton, the NBA’s all-time leader in assists and steals, wore this jersey circa 1984-86, his first two seasons in the NBA. Stockton played in all 164 of the Jazz’s games during this time period, although primarily backing up one-time All-Star point guard Rickey Green during this era. Stockton averaged 11.4 points and 10.8 assists per 36 minutes during this time period, previewing his remarkably productive and consistent play throughout his Hall of Fame career.
This white home jersey has “Jazz” and Stockton’s number “12” screen printed to the front in purple. “STOCKTON” is sewn across the back shoulders in purple tackle twill above a second screen printed purple “12”. A Medalist Sand-Knit size “42” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey next to a blank swatch. The sleeve and collar openings are ringed with a colorful purple, yellow, and green band. This jersey, which shows light to moderate wear, comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema, who dates it to the 1984-86 era based on the tagging and lack of a NBA logo.
