They swept the Kansas City Royals in three games to win the American League pennant, setting up a World Series showdown with the San Diego Padres of the National League. The Tigers easily defeated the Padres in five games, with long serving shortstop Allan Trammell winning World Series MVP honors.

     This Bobby Brown Official American League baseball has been signed by 29 members of the ’84 Tigers, with Sparky Anderson and Doug Bair signing the sweet spot of this ball. Other signatures include Rusty Kuntz, Allan Trammell, Jack Morris, Kirk Gibson, Larry Herndon, Bill Scherrer, Lou Whitaker, Alex Grammas, Tom Brookens, Randy O’Neal, Dave Rozema, Howard Johnson, Scott Earl, Barbaro Garbey, Doug Baker, Nelson Simmons, Dan Petry, and several more. The signatures were written in black pen. This baseball comes from the personal collection of Sid Monge, a relief pitcher on the ’84 Tigers. This baseball comes with a LOA from Monge.
