For over a decade, Hall of Famer Eddie Murray averaged 28 home runs and 99 RBI every year, earning him the well-deserved nickname “Steady Eddie”. His work around first base anchored a Baltimore infield that won two pennants and a World Championship. This bat dates to 1984, a year in which Murray led the AL in on-base percentage, hit 29 homers and hit a solid .306. Throughout his career, Murray mostly used Louisville Sluggers, but, like most ballplayers, he sometimes tried something new, and for at least a part of 1984 he swung an Adirondack bat.
He obviously gave this Adirondack quite a tryout as this Pro Ring P302 model bat shows heavy game use and is un-cracked. More than 20 ball, stitch and seam marks can be seen on the barrel. A heavy coat of pine tar is on the handle and his number “33” is written in black marker on the knob over the stamped model number “422A”. Best of all, the Hall of fame has added a flawless signature to the barrel in contrasting silver pen. A stunning Murray gamer, set apart by it being a rarely used Adirondack brand bat. The bat comes with a full LOA from MEARS (315050) for the game use and graded this bat a perfect A10 and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B53025) for the signature.
