On April 5th, 1984, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar became the all-time leading scorer in NBA history. Kareem dropped 22 against the Utah Jazz in Las Vegas, breaking Wilt Chamberlain’s mark with his trademark craftsmanship. Abdul-Jabbar would go on to score 38,387 points in his career, a record that still stands today. Offered here is a plaque presented to Kareem by Lakers owner Jerry Buss commemorating Kareem’s NBA record. This plaque measures 11.25 x 14 inches and shows an image of Abdul-Jabbar lifting a skyhook over an immobile Robert Parish. Printed on the plaque is “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar / In Recognition of Becoming / the National Basketball Association’s / All-time Leading Scorer On April 5, 1984” and “Presented by Jerry Buss on Behalf of the Los / Angeles Lakers and Basketball Fans / Everywhere”. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
