On January 27th, 1984, Michael Jackson’s life changed forever. Jackson was filming a commercial for Pepsi, with whom he had just signed a lucrative $5 million endorsement deal, when the pyrotechnics used to create a simulated concert malfunctioned and set Jackson on fire. Jackson suffered second-degree burns to his scalp and forced to undergo numerous corrective surgeries to repair the damage to his body.

Offered in this lot is a 1983 promotional photograph signed by Jackson, as well as a VIP pass and ticket to the January 27th commercial filming. The photograph measures 8 x 10 inches and shows Jackson seated, along with the other members of the Jackson 5. Michael has signed this photograph in black fine-tip marker. This photograph comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A77525). The ticket and VIP pass are both in good condition. They are accompanied by a Letter of Provenance from a producer who worked on the fateful commercial.
