The Jacksons embarked on the “Victory” tour in support of their album “Victory” released on July 2, 1984. Ostensibly fans came to see The Jacksons, but in truth, most were there to see Michael Jackson, who was riding a crest of fame from his “Off the Wall” and “Thriller” albums, with many calling the tour “The Thriller” tour. The tour was the first to feature all six brothers and featured 55 performances that grossed a total of $75 million. Interestingly, none of the songs on “Victory” were played during the concert, as Michael refused to practice or perform any songs from the album, which caused ongoing tension between Michael and the rest of his family until the day he tragically passed away.

Offered here is a stage used crystal-studded glove worn by Michael Jackson during the 1984 “Victory” tour. This offered glove (and others worn by Jackson) became synonymous with the singer during the early 1980s. The glove features Swarovski crystals across the entirety of the glove. There is a Bill Whitten tag located on the inside of the glove. Whitten was Michael Jackson’s longtime costume designer and created gloves for Jackson during this period. The glove displays fraying of the material, with a few missing crystals. The crystal-studded glove worn by Jackson during the 1984 “Victory” tour comes with a letter of provenance from David Miller, a former employee of MJJ Productions, and was personally given this glove from Michael Jackson himself.
