In 1985, Mickey Mantle signed on with Doubleday & Company, Inc. to publish “The Mick”, his official autobiography. This six-page contract, details the agreement between Doubleday, Mantle and his co-writer, Herb Gluck. The contract itself is dated October 27, 1983, and comes complete with riders and extensive strike throughs that have been initialed by all parties involved. The back page of the contract features signatures from Mantle, Gluck, Doubleday representatives and witnesses. Accompanying the contract are three letters from Doubleday, one dated May 8th, the other (2) dated May 24th. These three letters have also been signed by Mantle and Gluck. This great one-of-a-kind Mantle signed contract includes an original LOA from the Mantle family, signed by Merlyn, David and Danny Mantle.
