1984 saw the Ryan Express doing what he always did – whiff batters. Playing for a mediocre Astros club, Ryan won 12 and lost 11 – but has a nice .3.04 ERA. During that season Ryan struck out 197 National Leaguers and he would reach the 4,000 K mark the following summer. This bat dates to Ryan’s 1984 season in Houston. The Louisville Slugger K55 model bat is un-cracked and shows light use. Ryan’s number “34” is handwritten on the knob in black marker and there are several black paint spots present on the handle and barrel. The Hall of Famer has signed and inscribed the barrel in blue marker, making this a spectacular Nolan Ryan gamer.
