The Hall of Fame leftfielder and leadoff man Rickey Henderson wore this yellow Oakland Athletics alternate jersey in 1984, the final year of his first stint in Oakland. Henderson made his third straight All-Star team in 1984, hitting .293 with 16 homers, 58 RBI, and an American League leading 66 steals. Henderson was one of the best players in A’s franchise history, compiling the most runs, walks, steals, and offensive WAR since the team’s debut in 1901 as the Philadelphia Athletics. Henderson retired after the 2003 season and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009.
This offered pullover A’s alternate jersey has “OAKLAND” sewn across the chest in green and white tackle twill. “HENDERSON” is sewn across the back shoulders in green tackle twill above a green and white tackle twill “35”. The collar and sleeves of this jersey are accented with a striking green-yellow-green stripe. Sewn on the inside of the front tail is a Rawlings size “42” tag with an attached “Set 1 1984” flag. This historic Hall of Fame gamer comes with a LOA from MEARS (314916), who have graded the jersey a solid A8.
