Hall of Fame center Artis Gilmore wore this San Antonio Spurs road jersey during the 1985-86 NBA season, his 15th season in professional basketball and tenth in the NBA. Gilmore made the All-Star Game in 1985-86, his sixth such appearance in the NBA after making five ABA All-Star teams to begin his pro basketball career. The former Jacksonville University star averaged 16.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game for the Spurs in 1985-86 while shooting a sterling 61.8% from the field. Gilmore would go on to play two more NBA seasons before retiring. In 2011, Gilmore was honored with his long-overdue induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

This black Spurs road jersey has “SAN ANTONIO” and Gilmore’s number “53” sewn on the chest in white tackle twill. “GILMORE” and a second “53” are sewn on the back of the jersey, also in white tackle twill. A Russell Athletic size “44” tag with an attached “3[inch] Extra Length” flag is sewn on the front left tail. A second flag was attached to the Russell Athletic tag, but it has been cut. This jersey, which shows light to moderate use, comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
