The 1985-86 Boston Celtics would not be denied in their quest for a title. Behind Larry Bird and Kevin McHale, the Celtics stormed to a 67-15 record, defeating the Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, and Milwaukee Bucks to get to the NBA Finals. There they faced the Houston Rockets, led by the “Twin Towers” of a young Hakeem Olajuwon and Ralph Sampson. The Celtics prevailed in a six game series, with Larry Bird averaging nearly a triple-double to claim Finals MVP honors.

These balls are signed by three key members of the 1985-86 Celts. The first ball is signed by Robert Parish, a Hall of Fame center and the NBA’s all-time leader in games played. The Centenary College of Louisiana alum averaged 14.5 points and 9.1 rebounds over his 21 year career. He signed this ball in black marker. This ball comes with a JSA COA (M62318).

The second ball is signed by Bill Walton, a seven-foot center with a deft scoring touch. Although his career was hobbled by foot injuries, Walton received the 1977 Finals MVP and the 1977-78 NBA MVP award. The former UCLA Bruin was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1993. He signed this ball in black marker, adding the inscription “Hall of Fame ’93.” This ball comes with a JSA COA (M92989).

The third ball is signed by Dennis Johnson, a Hall of Fame point guard who played for the Seattle Sonics, Phoenix Suns, and Celtics. Johnson was a key member of the C’s during their title run, starting every game he played in the regular season. He signed this ball in black marker, adding the inscription “Celtics” below his name. This ball comes with a JSA COA (M92991).
