Hall of Fame shooting guard George Gervin wore this Nike Air shoes during the 1985-86 NBA season, his final year in the league. Gervin, playing in his only season with the Chicago Bulls, appeared in all 82 games, averaging 25.2 minutes and 16.2 points per game. The Bulls made the playoffs in 1985-86, and although they were swept by the Celtics, their postseason stint was punctuated by Michael Jordan’s 63-point outburst against the Celtics in Game 2. Gervin, who played the first four seasons of his career in the ABA, was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996.
These white, high-top Nike Air shoes have red Nike swoosh logos sewn on each side of the shoe. “NIKE” is printed on the heels in red and white lettering. The midsoles are off-white and the soles are gray. Gervin has signed the upper inside area of each heel in blue pen, inscribing “Iceman” and “#8” beneath each signature. These shoes come with a LOA from JSA for the signatures.
