The 1985 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, played in Minnesota’s Metrodome, featured a slew of future Hall of Famers including Tony Gwynn, Ozzie Smith, Rickey Henderson, George Brett, Cal Ripken Jr., Eddie Murray, Dave Winfield, Jim Rice and Carlton Fisk. The National League pitching staff held American League bats in check, winning the game 6-1. NL starting pitcher LaMarr Hoyt was named the game’s Most Valuable Player after throwing three innings while allowing just two hits and no earned runs. Nolan Ryan followed Hoyt on the mound to toss an additional three scoreless innings for the National League.

Presented here is a Balfour-manufactured gold tone celestrium 1985 MLB All-Star Game ring which features the MLB logo on a large red colored stone. “ALL-STAR GAME” appears in relief lettering around the bezel setting, along with images of six stars (three on each side). One shank of the ring features an image of a baseball over crossed bats, with the ball engraved “AMERICAN LEAGUE ALL-STARS VS NATIONAL LEAGUE ALL-STARS”. The year 1985 appears at the top. Displayed on the opposite side is the 1985 All-Star Game logo. “LGB GTC” is marked on the inside of this approximate size 12 ring. This item weighs approximately 26.0 grams and includes the original presentation box.
