This NY Mets road jersey, game worn by Ray Knight during the 1985 MLB season, is grey pullover bearing the Mets logo in blue with orange trim across the front, above the #22, and a Knight nameplate on the back with 22 in matching style. Blue and orange striping runs from the collar down both shoulders and sleeves, as well as down each side. The Rawlings manufacturer’s label is sewn inside the collar, denoting size 42, adjacent to a small tag reading “set 1 1985”, and above a patch reading “22 42 1”. Jersey shows light wear, and is accompanied by a pair of uniform pants issued for the 1985 playoffs, but never worn as the Mets did not qualify for the post-season that year. Pants are also grey, with blue and orange striping down both legs. The Rawlings tag is present on the inner waistband, next to a patch reading “22 Knight 85P 35 25” that itself is adjacent to a small tag reading “set 2 1985”. Also on the inner waistband, something has been colored over in black sharpie, and there is a handwritten “#7”, also in black sharpie, as these pants were eventually used in the minor leagues by 2 different players, one of whom wore #7. Back of right leg has a tear that has been stitched together, with a small hole still visible. Uniform comes with a LOA from noted game use expert Dave Miedema.
