In what George Steinbrenner called his biggest mistake, the New York Yankees lost Reggie Jackson to the California Angels in 1982. Out of the harsh spotlight of the Big Apple and back in his home state of California, Jackson embarked on the third phase of storied career with the California Angels. In 1985, the season to which this bat dates to, Reggie reached the rare milestone of 500 career home runs, this all but solidifying his berth in baseball's Hall of Fame.

This offered Rawlings/Adirondack 288RJ model bat displays excellent use and is un-cracked. There are several ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs on the barrel. The handle has been taped approximately seven inches from the knob in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip. Stamped on the knob are the bat’s model number “288RJ, order number “201” and the year “5”. A wonderful late career gamer from one of baseball’s most feared sluggers. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (D62699) and has been graded a solid GU 8.
