Hall of Famer Tom Seaver picked up his 300th career victory as a member of the Chicago White Sox in a 4-1 complete game against the New York Yankees in the Bronx. It was Seaver’s 12th victory of the 1985 season, striking out seven, walking one and allowing only six hits. In 20 seasons, Seaver pitched for the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, the White Sox and the Boston Red Sox, and compiled a 311-205 record with a 2.86 career ERA. A three-time Cy Young Award winner and the 1967 National League Rookie of the Year, Seaver was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992 in what was at the time, the highest percentage of votes.

Offered here is one of the baseballs used during Seaver’s milestone 300th win game at Yankee Stadium. This ball is an Official American League Bobby Brown stamped baseball that shows solid game use. This ball has been signed and inscribed by Seaver in blue fiber-tipped marker on the side panel with the inscription “#300” above the signature and “8-4-85” below. The ball displays excellent game use with even toning and rubbed dirt throughout. A great piece of baseball history and this comes with a LOA from MEARS for the game use and a LOA from JSA (XX19508) for the signature and inscription. Please note that this item was recently authenticated by MEARS. An LOA will be pictured in this lot when it is received in our office and will be shipped to the winner.
