New York Knicks bruising center Patrick Ewing wore this jersey during the 1986-87 season, his second campaign in the Association. Ewing capitalized on his successful Rookie of the Year season the year prior to up his scoring average to 21.5 points per game, leading the team in the absence of his fellow Hall of Famer, shooting guard Bernard King. The three-time All-American at Georgetown was a terror on the defensive end of the court as well, pulling down 8.8 rebounds and swatting 2.3 shots per game. Although still not yet in the prime of his career, the future Hall of Famer proved that he was one of the premier centers in the NBA during the 1986-87 season.
This white Knicks home jersey has “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in orange and blue tackle twill. Ewing’s number “33”, which was retired by the Knicks in 2003, is sewn on the chest and back in orange and blue tackle twill. “EWING” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue tackle twill. An NBA logo patch is sewn on the left chest of the jersey. The sleeve and collar openings are ringed with an orange and blue pattern. A Gerry Cosby tag is sewn on the back inside collar of the jersey, and two Sand-Knit tags are sewn on the front left tail. A “6” LB” tag is sewn next to the Sand-Knit tag on this size “46” jersey. This jersey shows moderate wear, and has been graded a perfect A10 by MEARS (315386).
